Listen carefully; change made to phone menu options

Toni Gore, marketing and public relations assistant for Horry Electric, reviews the new phone menu options members will be hearing after 5 p.m. on September 30.

“When you call Horry Electric Cooperative after 5:01 p.m. today, you’ll hear a newly recorded greeting with menu options tailored for the new system,” says Gail Morton, supervisor of the service department for Horry Electric. “Members will need to listen carefully because the menu options have changed.”

The new options menu when calling 843.369.2211

  • To report a power outage – press 1
  • To access information about your account or to pay by phone – press 2
  • If you need underground service located for a digging project, press 3 and you will be transferred to Palmetto Utility Protection Service
  • For the company directory – press 4

During the day, when there is an operator on duty, there will be an option to press 0 for immediate assistance.

The new telephone menu options will go into effect after 5:01 p.m. today.
