Horry Electric Cooperative was among the members of Horry Telephone impacted by yesterday’s equipment failure that resulted in the loss of land line and cell phone service in various parts of Horry County. Telephone service was restored and normal operations resumed shortly before 11 p.m. last night. “The switchboard will open at 8 a.m. and members will once again be able to make contact with us by telephone,” says Jodi Braziel, office manager for Horry Electric Cooperative.
Without telephone service from mid-afternoon until about 11 p.m. Thursday, the Horry Electric had alternate plans for communicating with members in place. “It’s business as usual today,” says Braziel. “Access to PowerTouch, Advance Pay and Speedpay through Horry Electric’s phone system has been restored.”
